Vexillum SP 5 and Prolixus SP 1.1 update

We're gonna be rolling out a service pack update for Vexillum and a supplementary update for Prolixus.

Vexillum • Service Pack 5 (v5.5.0.0)
A few minor bugfixes and a complete font sizing rework. The System Access menu will be completely reworked to almost match the "Primary System Directory" in Prolixus. VoiceCommand will be completed. A few new animations will also be added.

Prolixus • Update (v6.1.1.0)
Prolixus will benefit from a few minor changes, mostly alignment related. The "Mission Ops" bug will be fixed and a whole new "Mission Ops" module added. The Federation Database will be reworked completely to allow easier and more frequent database module plugins to be added (although, you should not notice the change). The long awaited "Excelsior Files" will also be added among other missing Easter eggs.

Prometheus and Nebula Classes • Drydock Plugins

Another Drydock release for you guys. The majestic Nebula class and the almost sinister looking Prometheus.

The Defiant class should be released soon and work has started on the Excelsior, Miranda, and Oberth classes

Nova Class Drydock Plugin

Another Drydock Plugin for you guys. This time it's the Nova Class. Probably Starfleet's cutest class—and one of my favorites.

Version 6.1 Released

LCARS 6.1 has been rolled out. There are a few unfinished areas which will be finished soon. So, if you see a few database modules with "no title", please bear with us.

Among the changes, you can now full screen Stellar Cartography, more data files, a ton of spelling mistakes fixed and so on.

Still working on the USS Excelsior and the Romulan computer files—most of the source files have been lost, but they should be available in the next version.

EDIT
Please direct your browser to the current version of LCARS 47.

Version 6.1: New Modules

Lovely new modules ready for the 6.1 update. Here's a few screenshots. There's also added functionality with the command buttons (top right group of 6). In Vexillum, the command buttons were used to activate the alert systems. In Prolixus, they've become pretty much redundant—not any more...

Vessel Status: The Missing Subsystems

Some new animations ready for the 6.1 update. My current favourite is the "Vessel Status" screen, which was planned since version 5.0. Sadly, the animation never really made it, for reasons I can't remember. Anyways, it's been revamped, works with Drydock, and has a little inspiration from Star Trek: Generations.

On a side note, I'm not sure when version 6.1 will be released, there's a lot of things to fix (mainly the 16,000 frame limit in Flash).

Drydock • Akira

The Akira class Drydock plugin is now available. Such a nice ship; the guys at ILM really did a great job on this one for Star Trek: First Contact. One of my all time favorites.

Dispersal Pattern: Sierra

A long, long time ago, I made a joke about having the ability to fire weapons in LCARS 47. It was meant as nothing more than a simple ponder to keep one's self amused. Well, some users have been asking me why there is no weapons system in LCARS.

Simply put, it would look out of place. But now, I've decided to invest some time in it (with extensive help from LCARS Developer, I might add). It's all starting to come together—albeit a little sparse at the minute.

Update: Monday March 12 - 15:34
The weapon system is nearing completion. You'll need to select the weapon type before you can fire anything. I've also added a "diagnostic mode", which doesn't really do anything other than make the weapon select buttons flash red.

LaunchCenter Gets Some Dev Time

The image in Friday's post got me thinking. Thinking about a new LaunchCenter. I mean why not? We have Drydock and Champaign to work with, an MSD style LaunchCenter seemed inevitable.

The Continuing Voyages... Well, Development

The future of LCARS 47 is looking good.

In Prolixus, We're currently working on expanding the Federation Database module, adding a few new sections including, a medical system, a science system and more. There's also work on a "mission overview" database module, where users can enter a custom mission brief and more.

Vexillum is also set to receive a few customizable features too. Details soon.

Databank, the LCARS 47 Wiki

After receiving a rather detailed email from a user (we'll call him Kris (because that's his name)), suggesting the creation of a fancy new Wiki. Well, it's 04:52 in the morning, and I'm finally happy to let you all know about it—I did have a day off planned and probably lunch with Greig (LCARS Quality Assurance) later—But LCARS is pretty fun to do. I'm rambling...

So, to wrap it up, there's a new Wiki, powered by Wikia and here's a link.

Prolixus Button Changes

A number of people have suggested adding labels to the buttons in Prolixus. As you know, the use of readable labels is limited to some few buttons. Needless to say, most of the buttons will be getting their own label. And those that can't be labeled, will be appropriately categorized instead (in a similar fashion to the System Access display in LCARS Vexillum).

There are a few minor changes to come, which include a ton of tweaks and bug fixes and most importantly, a few animations and such adding.

On another note: There will also be a huge addition to the Database section, so get your suggestions in now!

Missing Apps • Sorry Guys

I received a tweet from a user today, Jerah Callaghan. Jerah pointed out that I mentioned the ability to access the transporter and weapon systems. I had completely forgotten about that until I logged into Twitter.

(The image is basic sample of the unfinished transport system)

"..LCARS adaptation, I wanted to go to Red Alert and beam someone (probably no one) up, lock photons and fire."

Well, it'll be worked into an update into LCARS Prolixus, so thanks Jerah!

The Battle for Delor Prime (Star Trek: Armada II)

As some of you guys know, during the latter parts of developing LCARS 47 the Dev Team got pretty caught up playing Star Trek: Armada II when the work permitted. Obviously, I was undefeated every time (even when they all teamed up against me). Anyways, we thought we'd release the map I made. The catch is, it's lodged in a file inside LCARS Prolixus. Happy hunting!

Drydock Delays

Hi guys. Sorry to announce a slight delay with the Drydock Plugins. Rest assured that the Sovereign Class MSDs will be released tomorrow, shortly followed by the Intrepid Class, Galaxy Class and so on.

As always, feel free to leave a comment below. In the mean time, peace, love, and prosper.
